Unicef: Shorthand story highlighting child labour in the fashion industry

According to a report from the International Labour Organisation, some 170 million children were in child labour in 2012, touching areas of our lives from fashion to food.

Working with Unicef, I was asked to art direct / design a long form interactive to elaborate on this shocking statistic and what is being done about it. Within a relatively low budget, we produced a beautiful design that would get the message across using the story, impactful photography, clever graphics and a thought provoking intro video (all produced in-house). Shorthand offers several ways of getting information across but the flow of the story has to be correct and I think I got the visualisation and tone just right.

It was greatly received by Unicef and has since been shared over 2200 times from the Guardian website.
