Discoveramerica.com agreed a partnership with The Telegraph and we promised to deliver a huge multi-platform series about the the diversity of the United States of America.

 

The look and feel needed to be consistent throughout and I felt that an illustration style would do that. Biggest problem was I needed to commission an illustrator who knew America inside as he/she would be illustrating activities included road trips, 50 unique things to do in 50 states, to sport, music and food festivals. All locations would require nailed on accuracy. Step forward, Nate Padavick from Vermont.

 

Over many months, we worked together to produce huge DPS broadsheet maps for print as well as for interactive iPad apps. To keep it in the family, I even used a font that I bought from Nate's sister for all the iPad apps which went great with Nate’s style. The campaign was a huge success and was visually stunning.
