Far Foriegn Land

Having worked with Football Editor, Tony Evans on many occasions at The Times newspaper, I was asked to help him design artwork for his new book and then a website to help promote it.

The book, Far Foreign Land, is about Tony's train trip across Europe to watch the 2005 Champions League Final in Istanbul. It recalls stories of his Liverpool FC travels across Europe in the 80's and 90's, embroidered with the political and social events of that time, including the Heysel and Hillsborough tragedies. Being a Reds fan myself, I was honoured to help out. I shot the simple book cover image using a vintage Liverpool shirt, Tony's passport and a match ticket from the game.

The website was set up using Wordpress offering a simple but effective carousel with iconic images from Liverpool's past. Tony's words did the rest.
