The Times Archive

I was asked to design an ad campaign to be used both in print and online to highlight that The Times Archive is now part of both The Times and The Sunday Times websites. The archive includes more than 20 million articles from every edition of the Times from 1785 to the present day.

It includes coverage of events such as the Battle of Waterloo, the Jack the Ripper murders in 1888 and Amelia Earhart's solo flight across the Atlantic in 1932. My idea was to use iconic images from history overlaying hundreds of small covers of The Times newspaper which offered a tile effect.
